Bandhavgarh National Park
Bandhavgarh National Park is covering an area of 450 sq km, once used to be the hunting reserve for the royal family of
Rewa.
This is where the famous white tigers of Rewa were discovered. Also to be seen here are
nilgai, chousingha, chital, chinkara, wild boar, foxes, jackals, the jungle cat,
ratel, hyena, porcupine, the rhesus macaque and the black-faced langur. About 150 species of birds are also found here and include the migratory birds that arrive in winter like the steppe eagle and various water-birds.

Bandipur National Park
Bandipur National Park in Karnataka is a tiger reserve with an area of 900 square km.This is one of the finest habitats of the Asian elephant. Drained by the Moyar River, its open forest makes it easy for visitors to see the elephant and gaur in natural surroundings.
The park has good facilities for viewing wildlife, which include gaur, elephant,
sambar, chital and even the occasional tiger or leopard. Among other mammals are the
muntjac, the tiny mouse deer, wild boar, pangolin, giant squirrel, slender
loris, langurs and macaques. The Park has about 250 species of birds and Malabar
trogan, the Malabar pied hornbill, the great black woodpecker, the Indian pitta and the green imperial pigeon are part of its avian variety.

Desert National Park
The Desert National Park is situated in Rajasthan near Jaisalmer. This is one of the largest national parks, covering an area of 3100 sq. km.
The region is a heaven for migratory and resident birds of the desert. The great Indian bustard is magnificent bird found in relatively fair numbers. One can also see eagles, harriers, falcons, buzzards, kestrel and vultures. Short- toed eagles, tawny eagles, spotted eagles, lagger falcons and kestrels are the commonest of these. Sandgrouse are spotted near small ponds or lakes.

Dudhwa National Park
This tiger reserve is located in the Terai bordering Nepal. The park covers 498.29
sq. km. This is the habitat of large numbers of barasingha, the magnificent swamp deer. These in turn support the predators - the tiger and leopard.
The grasslands are also ideal terrain for the Indian one horned rhinoceros. Other inhabitants include the sloth bear, jackal, wild pig and the lesser cats - the fishing cat, leopard cat, jungle cat and civet. Dudhwa also has an abundance of birds. Its marshes are home to a range of water-birds both local and migratory.

Gir National Park
Located in the Saurashtra Peninsula, The Gir National Park is a haven to about 300 Asiatic Lions which is their last surviving population. This area flanked with three unique and unusual reserves, the Nalsarovar Lake and Sanctuary; the Rann of Kutch and the Flamingo Islands which is home to the flamingo, make it a very interesting tourist spot.

Kanha National Park
The Kanha National Park is located in the Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh that covering nearly 2,000 sq. km. The Surpan River meanders through Kanha's central
maidans-grasslands. The grasslands are ideal terrain for varieties of deer the
barasingha, chital (spotted deer), chousingha, nilgai, the gaur (Indian bison) and wild pig, is 'tiger country'.
Kanha is the home to 'hard ground' barasingha (cervus duvauceli branderi). This area is also ideal for spotting the dhole or wild dog,
langurs, wild boar, water fowl and birds. The animals at Kanha are best observed from elephant back & jeeps.

Kaziranga National Park
Situated on the Brahmaputra River, the Kaziranga National Park was declared sanctuary in 1940, covers an area of about 430 sq. km.,today support the largest number of rhino in the subcontinent.
Rhinos browse unconcernedly as the visitors pass by and an occasional herd of elephants or wild boar is also sighted. Herds of barasingha and wild buffalo are to be seen in the marshes, also the crested serpent eagle, the Pallas fishing eagle and greyheaded fishing eagle can be seen circling over the marshes.
The water-bird variety includes swamp partridge, bar-headed goose, whistling teal, the Bengal
florican, herons and even pelicans.

Keoladeo National Park
Just 176 km. from Delhi and commonly referred to as Bharatpur National Park is one of the finest water-bird sanctuaries in the world. The 28.73 sq. km. lake and wetland was artificially created by the Maharaja of Bharatpur in the 19th century.

Madumalai National Park
Mudumalai is a most attractive wildlife reserve. The Mysore-Ooty highway runs through the Park, following the course of the Moyar River, which separates Mudumalai from
Bandipur. Just 321 sq. km. in area the hilly terrain provides diverse habitats.
The wild elephant, gaur, deer and primates like the bonnet macaque and langurs all inhabit the Park. The predators include the tiger, leopard and the
dhole- the Asiatic wild dog, that hunts in packs. The predators of the skies are the crested hawk eagle and the crested serpent eagle that can be seen circling above.
In the cool of the dense forests, among the stands of teak and bamboo thickets, are colourful birds hornbills, the great black woodpecker with its dramatic red crest, mynas, barbets and parakeets. The tiny eared owl, the scops owl and the little scops owl are more heard than seen.
The Annamalai Sanctuary, lying adjacent to Mudumalai is noted for two species that are exclusive to it the Nilgiri langur and the lion tailed macaque.

Nagarhole National Park
Nagarhole ("Snake River") National Park, extends 640 square kilometres north from the Kabini River, dammed in 1974 to form a picturesque artificial lake. During the dry season (Feb-June), this perennial water source attracts large numbers of animals, making it a potentially prime spot for sighting wildlife.
Nagarhole is best visited at the height of the dry season, when its muddy river banks and grassy swamps, offer better chances of sighting gaur (Indian bison), elephant, dhole (wild dog), deer, boar, and even the odd tiger or leopard than any of the neighbouring sanctuaries. Book

Panna National Park is located in the central Indian state of Madhya

Periyar National Park and Tiger Reserve
This park is in Kerala has a picturesque lake at the heart of the sanctuary. Formed with the building of a dam in 1895, providing a perennial source of water for the local wildlife.
Animals found here include elephant, sambar, gaur and wild boars. In March and April, during the driest period here, the animals spend a lot of time near the lake and the elephants can be seen bathing and swimming in the reservoir. You may even get a glimpse of the tiger during this season.
Periyar is also home to leopard, wild dog, barking deer, mouse deer, monitor lizards and a variety of snakes and birds include darter, cormorant, grey heron, ibis, great malabar hornbill and grey hornbill, kingfishers, ospreys and kites as well as orioles, hill mynas, racket tailed
drongos, parakeets, including the unusual blue winged paraket and fly catchers. The animals are viewed from motor launches on the lake and from watch towers.
